GSTIN checker.

Validate any GSTIN’s structure in your browser: the state code, the PAN inside it, the entity number, the default character and the check digit. It is the same check Calibre runs on every supplier invoice.

Check a GSTIN

Runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere. Specimen GSTINs are fictional.

    FAQ

    About GSTINs

Does this checker confirm that a GSTIN is registered?

No. It checks that a GSTIN is well formed: state code, PAN, entity number, default character and check digit. Registration status is held by the GST portal.

How is the GSTIN check digit calculated?

The fifteenth character is computed from the first fourteen using a weighted base-36 sum: alternate characters are doubled, the digits of each product are added, and the check digit makes the total a multiple of 36.

What does Calibre do with a misread GSTIN?

If a single character was misread, Calibre repairs it only to a GSTIN whose check digit is valid and shows the change to a reviewer.

Every GSTIN, on every invoice, checked.

Calibre runs this check and a dozen more on each supplier invoice before anyone is asked to approve it.
